30 Ways for Muslims to Encounter Christ

Muslims pray prescribed prayers five times a day. Lord, as people from Bosnia turn to Christ, teach them how to keep spiritual rhythms, turning it into an intimate time with you and not simply a ritual.

Praying Scripture

“You are the God who works wonders; you have made known your might among [Bosnians]” (Psalm 77:14).

O Lord, Sovereign over Bosnia! We come to you today, again, to sing your praise and declare your worth. You are worthy! You alone work wonders! You are the miracle maker, the Creator God, the One by whom all things came into being and through whom all life is sustained. Lord, demonstrate your might and power in Bosnia. Truly, You alone are God.

Praying for the Church

Pray for great clarity about areas where Christians in Bosnia may be distracted or deceived, making their work for the Lord just busyness and not genuinely fruitful. In humility, would they be open to the Spirit’s correction and direction.

Praying with the 5 Senses

This month, we want to encourage you to pray in new or unique ways as we lift the Bosniak people. Each day, we will be highlighting a way you can engage one of the “5 senses” to specifically pray for Bosnia.

HEARING
Throughout Bosnia, muqabalas, or communal recitations of the Kur’an that take place during Ramadan, occur in mosques and are open to the community. People specially trained in reading and reciting the passages in Arabic will do so, while others listen on. If you are interested, you can Google “recitation of Quran” to hear what this sounds like. We know there is power in scripture and hearing the Word of God. Pray for Muslims during these times to seek the True Word, who is not bound by one single language. Finish your prayer time by listening to an audio version of your favorite Bible passage.

(If you don’t already have access to an audio bible, you can listen for free at Bible Gateway or try out the Dwell Bible app.)

Claiming Our Hope in Christ and His Heart for the Nations

Lord, we remember our brothers and sisters today from non-Christian backgrounds. They did not grow up learning about you and what you’re like. And so we pray, Lord, that you would recreate them, that you would transform their thoughts and feelings about God, and conform their beliefs to the reality of your Goodness.

Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Spirit, have mercy.

Amen.
