30 Ways for Muslims to Encounter Christ

Zakat, one of the five pillars of Islam, requires Muslims to donate a set percentage of their wealth each year to Muslim charities. The New Testament teaches Christians to give generously from the heart as opposed to a set percentage. Pray for the people of Bosnia to be challenged by the contrast between a religious rule and a heart posture and to want to understand more about the “new heart” that the Bible teaches about (Ezekiel 36:26).

Praying Scripture

“And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you” (Luke 11:9).

Ask for the grace of persevering prayer among Bosnian believers. Ask the Prince of Peace for leaders of the emerging ‘streams’ of churches and groups, that would never become so busy with activity that they cease praying extravagantly. Ask for believers in the emerging movements to have the unabashed persistence of the widow in asking, seeking, and knocking.

Praying for the Church

Pray for dreams that will compel people to seek their meaning. Pray for whole families, groups, and communities to have the same dream about Jesus. Would the church find unity in the ways you reveal yourself to her.

Praying with the 5 Senses

This month, we want to encourage you to pray in new or unique ways as we lift the Bosniak people. Each day, we will be highlighting a way you can engage one of the “5 senses” to specifically pray for Bosnia.

TOUCH
1 Timothy 6:10 says that “the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.” We also know that a heart in alignment towards God will use money to further his kingdom and purposes. Many Bosniak Muslims give money out of obligation or to produce honor within the community, especially during Ramadan when their gifts are said to produce 70 times the good deeds.

Take some cash or coins and hold them in your hand. Realize their fleeting power…it’s just bits of paper and metal. Pray that Muslims around the world wouldn’t seek to “buy” good deeds, but rather have a heart towards God. Realize also the good money can do when given humbly to God’s Kingdom. Ask God to show you if He has a special cause for you to give towards today.

Claiming Our Hope in Christ and His Heart for the Nations

“Even the wilderness and desert will be glad in those days. The wasteland will rejoice and blossom with spring crocuses. Yes, there will be an abundance of flowers and singing and joy! The deserts will become as green as the mountains of Lebanon, as lovely as Mount Carmel or the plain of Sharon.” Isaiah 35:1-3

Father, what seems impossible – deserts becoming like green mountains – is possible with you. We pray on behalf of Bosnia. Let the impossible happen! Pray now the most impossible prayer you can imagine for Bosnia. What is the area of Bosnia that seems hopelessly dead / lifeless / incurable? Is there an area or people group or political party you would like to pray for, declaring the resurrection life of Christ? Do so now.
