30 Ways for Muslims to Encounter Christ

Islam pursues political, societal, and top-down power structures. Christianity teaches bottom-up servant leadership (Luke 22:25-27). Pray for BiH to be transformed as Christians model Christian leadership principles and reject worldly power structures.

Praying Scripture

“He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and he loves the foreigner residing among you, giving them food and clothing…” (Deuteronomy 10:18).

Lord, we declare on behalf of the refugees passing through BiH from around the world: Defend their cause; you care about their plight; you respond to their cries for justice; and you reach down from heaven to act. You are the God of the refugee, a safe haven, a strong tower. And you stand with those whose backs are up against the wall.

Praying for the Church

Praise God for the several Bible translations available to Bosnian believers. Pray that as these versions continue to be put on popular Bible apps (and even are being recorded for audio options!), that the church in BiH would be encouraged and sustained by the Bread of Life. Pray for the missionaries who are leading these translation/recording efforts.

Liberty to the Captives

Each of us who comes to Christ must repent of and renounce every pact, promise, or identity we held before faith in Christ. Join us in praying for our brothers and sisters in Christ from a Muslim background as they repent of their former identity as Muslims. This prayer is inspired by chapter 7 and 8 of Liberty to the Captives by Mark Durie

We have authority in Christ to speak the truth in love, with boldness. “Now Lord consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness” (Acts 4:29).

Pray for those following Jesus in BiH to speak about Christ with boldness.

Bosnian Insights

Feasting is just as important as fasting during Ramadan. Large “iftar” meals signal the break of the daily fast, and often include specially prepared dishes. The cultural and familial bonding that takes place during these meals is a barrier to those wanting to make a decision for Christ.

Pray for communities of believers to welcome newcomers and seekers with open arms, that no barrier would exist for making a Gospel decision.
