In many parts of the Muslim world, Islam is passed down more through tradition, family, and society than in formal education. Prayer, fasting, and going on the Hajj are mostly done in a communal context. Today, we pray in faith for our brothers and sisters in Bosnia to find community and family in your Church. We pray they would have vision for sharing what they are learning about Christ in their community, families, and networks.
Praying Scripture
“Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?” (Romans 2:4).
Declare the loving kindness of God, that His mercies are new every morning, that His faithfulness to Bosnia is indeed great. Declare that this year is the year of the Lord’s favor, that this month is the month of repentance, that today is the day God’s Kingdom is at hand.
Praying for the Church
Pray for existing groups (friends, co-workers, families, etc.) to yearn to discover, obey, and share God’s Word. Pray that believers in Bosnia would be encouraged as their networks around them open up to the Gospel message. Pray for many to be saved together!
Praying with the 5 Senses
This month, we want to encourage you to pray in new or unique ways as we lift the Bosniak people. Each day, we will be highlighting a way you can engage one of the “5 senses” to specifically pray for Bosnia.
HEARING Listening to worship music can be a powerful way to engage your heart and mind during prayer. Watch this video of the song “Oceans,” sung in the Bosnian/Serbian/Croatian language. As you listen, pray prayers of thanksgiving that we serve a God who speaks every language!
Claiming Our Hope in Christ and His Heart for the Nations
Jesus, we thank you for the gift of your presence. Even when we feel alone, you are with us. Jesus, we thank you for the gift of your steadfastness. Even when we forget your goodness and kindness, you are waiting patiently for us to remember. We pray now over the Bosniaks this month who are seeking to feel these same things from their god. Would you meet them in real and tangible ways. Break barriers, break chains, and break open the floodgates of your Spirit. Pour out over the nation of Bosnia, that all would know and deeply feel your presence and your steadfast love.
